WWDC 2025 is set to take place from June 9 to 13, with the keynote address scheduled for June 9 at 10 a.m. PT. The event will be streamed live on Apple’s website, the Apple Developer app, and YouTube.

This year’s conference is anticipated to focus on significant software updates, design overhauls, and advancements in artificial intelligence across Apple’s ecosystem.

Software Rebranding: iOS 26 and Beyond

Apple is expected to introduce a new naming convention for its operating systems, aligning version numbers with the calendar year. This means the next iterations will be named iOS 26, iPadOS 26, macOS 26, watchOS 26, tvOS 26, and visionOS 26. The change aims to unify versioning across platforms and simplify the user experience.

Solarium Design Overhaul

A significant visual redesign, codenamed “Solarium”, provide a cohesive and futuristic user experience across all Apple devices. Inspired by visionOS, the new design is expected to feature:

  • Modernized Icons: Transitioning to slightly rounder shapes for a refreshed look.
  • Dynamic Interface Elements: Incorporating floating navigation bars and translucent panels for a more immersive experience.
  • Enhanced Haptic Feedback: Improving tactile responses to enrich user interaction.

Apple Intelligence Enhancements

Building upon its AI initiatives, Apple is expected to introduce several features under the “Apple Intelligence” umbrella:

  • Battery Optimization: An AI-driven mode that analyzes user habits to conserve energy, potentially extending battery life without noticeable performance trade-offs.
  • Revamped Siri: Enhanced contextual understanding, on-screen awareness, and integration with third-party assistants, aiming to make Siri more responsive and intuitive.
  • Health App Upgrades: Introduction of an AI health coach offering personalized recommendations, food tracking capabilities, and expert-led video content, possibly as part of a new Apple Health+ service.

Additionally, developers may gain access to new tools facilitating the integration of Apple Intelligence features into their apps.

New Gaming Hub

Apple may launch a standalone gaming application to replace Game Center, which debuted in 2010, promoting Apple Arcade and leveraging its acquisition of RAC7. This move underscores Apple’s commitment to enhancing the gaming experience on its platforms.

It will let you launch your installed games, check in on leaderboards, and keep tabs on your in-game achievements, similar to Google Play Games or the Xbox app. With this app, Apple aims to improve the gaming experience of users across its devices amid rising competition from other console manufacturers and cloud gaming services.

Developer Sessions

Throughout the week, Apple will provide more than 100 in-depth video sessions covering a broad range of topics. Developers can participate in free online group labs to discuss WWDC announcements and seek guidance on implementation.

  • Apple Intelligence
  • Swift and SwiftUI
  • Machine Learning & Core ML
  • App Design & Accessibility
  • Graphics, Games, and Metal
  • Privacy, Security, and App Store Guidelines

Follow WWDC Community Notes which compiles and organizes notes from all sessions, maintained by a community of contributors who attend WWDC and share their notes for the benefit of others. It serves as a valuable resource for developers who wish to quickly access and review the key points from various WWDC presentations.
